Vegas 19-Cannot imbed Vectorscope/Waveform permanently like I did in16

Thomas-Monks wrote on 6/11/2022, 10:27 PM

Greetings !

I took the advice of folks here to upgrade to Vegas 19 Pro. I'm happy I did ! The first thing that I see is that PICTURE in PICTURE allows my to set the 4 corners anywhere :-) That was really needed :-) I'm sure there are many more improvments which I will discover when working with it.

I NEED HELP: I loved my old screen format, which is basically the default format with project media, etc. squeezed left a bit and a VECTORSCOPE / WAVEFORM monitor inserted in the blank space AND PERMANENTLY PART OF ANY SETUP NOW AND IN THE FUTURE. All I can acheive is to get some floating box with this. I don't want a floating box, I want it permanently part of any new screen which I open...always.

Can anybody help ?

Thanks, Tom

The docking process of the windows that you've mentioned above changed with VP17. To dock a window as in VP16 and earlier, you now have to hold down the CTRL key while moving a floating window into the position where you want it docked. It can be a bit tricky sometimes getting the window into the right position where the docking will 'catch'.

For more information about docking, have a look at 'Window Docking Area and Floating Window Docks' in the user manual. This is under the chapter named 'The VEGAS Pro Window'.

Just set it up the way you want and create a custom layout.

Thanks, I will read the manual...after I find it...lol

I think I need to find a way to undock the project media, etc. window and narrow it to the left, so I can make a hole to put the scopes and then dock all... ok I will read.

Complaint, no damn manual !

@Thomas-Monks - Sure, I hear yah. If you research the reasons why not you can easily find out why. The Team are still sourcing a Technical Writer for the job. In the meantime I use the VP18 User Manual.

@Thomas-Monks ... Though the user manual might not be up-to-date in Vegas Pro 19 (other than 'What's New in VP19'), I still get a user manual in Vegas Pro 19 (b636) - which is probably the VP18 user manual - via the menu selection 'Help/Contents and Index' - which is from where I sourced my earlier comment.
