Vegas Movie Studio Rendered Video File Too Large

I am making my first video, taking a few wmv files and editing them together with some basic text and basic images. The resulting file is about 55 seconds in total length. The problem is that the rendered file is about 8GB (avi). I'd be ok if that was a 2 hour movie, but not for something less than 1 minute.

I have clicked the "Make a Movie" wizard, which allows me to select mp4 to compress it, but I lose all of my other advanced options (custom resolution).

Here are the file sizes for the raw inputs:

image1: 238KB

image2: 64.1KB

Video1(wmv): 5.54 MB

Video2(wmv): 9.54 MB

Video3(wmv): 7.06 MB

Video4(wmv): 6.76 MB

I also have 5 text events and 1 credit roll event

someone please help me. I need an answer to this really quickly (I have a deadline).

Thank you!

You chose to to render AVI, not MP4, that's all.

There are simple and advanced render modes.

Choose a bitrate option that gives the file size you need.

As for your deadline, best of luck.
