Vegas Pro 18 won't open after power outage

I Installed Vegas Pro 18 (build 482) a week ago, and just finished a project. Media is MTS (Originally there were issues importing this, but I was able to uninstall a windows security update & then it was fine).

There was a power outage during render to mp4. Now I get the "Vegas Pro has stopped working" message whenever I try to open the project file- please see screenshots above & below. This error Reporting Client message (which I have sent) closes Vegas. If I just open Vegas & don't try to import a project, the program opens. This happens for any project I try to open.

I uninstalled Vegas Pro & followed the instructions on this forum for ensuring program files, Vegas Data folders & Vegas folders were manually deleted from the Registry. Then I reinstalled Vegas, but the problem remains.

I use Windows 10, 64 bit operating system, x 64-based processor & have Intel i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz & 16GB of RAM.

Any help would be appreciated- I am at my wit's end!!

I recommend uninstall / reinstall, but uninstall using a third-party uninstaller that can remove left-over registry entries and other pertinent data the default uninstall leaves behind, which in usually the root of recurring issues
Revo Uninstall is highly regarded and has pro and freeware versions.

Your issue with MTS may have more to do with Windows Update than your power outage. Read:
