vegas pro18 will not load on startup

i have just installed Vegas pro 18 suite on my windows 10 machine and after successfully installing, have managed to register the program, but when it goes to load, the program fails almost immediately to load...anyone have any info on how to fix? i have uninstalled pro 17 and that did not help. i have uninstalled and reinstalled 18 3 more times without any affect. getting pretty frustrated right now after spending $$$ and cannot even get it to open...

You will need to provide some information, like what happens when it fails to launch -- does it disappear, freezes on a splash screen. an error message, smoke comes from the computer, what? We won't know until you tell us.

Troubleshooting starts here -- nobody is trying to take your money, and uninstalling / reinstalling is counterintuitive.

The splash screen comes up and disappears into a problem report screen...

We are aware of a very large number of people who are experiencing issues on startup related to an issue with the initialization of the media codec libraries in the latest updates of both VEGAS Pro 18 and VEGAS Movie Studio 17. We are looking into a quick solution for this problem.
