Vegas Stream seems limited, and audio issue

I know sometimes power can lie hidden under a simple interface, but Stream appears to be rather limited when compared to OBS Studio. Is this just an impression or am I correct in this?

Also, the audio recorded is at a much lower level than with OBS studio, even with the master volume slider pushed all the way up. At best the green bars reached 50% of the Master volume scale with a test recording. Where, with the same computer sound settings, the volume will max out the meter in OBS. The volume recorded by Stream was so low under my test that it would HAVE to be sent to Vegas Pro in order to get it to an acceptable level.

Both programs were accessing the same audio device. Test was done recording a youtube video

The huge power of stream comes from the Titler Pro integration. That can be used to create some really powerful titling and Picture in Picture options. I've been surprised at everything that can be accomplished in Stream. You can pre-create all the different layouts you need. You can combine multiple pieces of the layouts to create one huge layout that can all be triggered at once.

If you just use it to switch cameras, both Stream and OBS does that easily. OBS can't touch Stream when it comes to titles and layouts and the ease of using them.

In this image you can see three Titler objects were combined into one "scene" and then, when the scene is activate, all three object automatically appear.

That is my impression too, and it seems to be by design. OBS can be terribly obtuse, and getting on air quickly with a new stream can be almost impossible.

Simple, Quick, limited by design, Intuitive booth controls. Those are Stream's advantages, and decidedly not as a comparable or competitive alternative to OBS.

That is a function of your input audio feed. What you give it is what you get from it. Refer to your audio device mixer controls.

I would agree if it weren't for the fact we are talking about the same video with the same volume settings on the vid, with the same mixer settings, and the same device picked to record from. The ONLY difference was the software being used to do the test recording.

I'll try to duplicate your observations, but I didn't notice it when testing.
