Much of our business involves conversion of legacy video formats and film to digital files. Our setup is quite simple and until this morning quite efficient. Work line is projector or deck to a Sony Digital-8 camera via S-VHS, out of the camera via firewire to vidcap in Vegas 13. Vidcap was working perfectly at 10:00 last night, as it has for the past several years.

No joy this morning, however. We are able to see the input from the camera on the vidcap preview screen but as soon as we try to capture the program freezes or crashes. I have tried sourcing from film projectors, VHS deck and the digital camera with no success. I have also re-cabled the line, again with no change

Any suggestions regarding how to fix this problem will be greatly appreciated.
