Video and audio not synced before or after rendering

Jennifer-Wilson wrote on 11/14/2020, 1:30 AM

I'm a beginner using Movie Studio 17 Platinum and when I'm combining two videos into one and I'm matching the video resolution to the video, when I go to preview the video the audio is 2 to 3 seconds behind the video. It does the same thing after being rendered too. I have tried using the Guided Video Creator and the Power user Mode and the results are the same. I have even watched the YouTube tutorials to see if I'm doing something wrong and I just don't know how to fix this. Please help, I don't know what else to do. Thanks in advance.

I'm such a Newbie to this that I have no idea what you are asking. I'm sorry !

you have to syncronize the audio\video inside movie-studio

right-click over the video,then [group]-[remove from]

from there you can adjust the audio to synco with the video..

see the video i made below

Thank you. I will try it in a few hours after I get some sleep. My eyes are wigging out from trying to figure it out. I'll let you know if it works.

I tried what your video showed and for some reason it just won't work. When I combine the 2 video clips it shows that the video and audio are synced but when I play the preview the audio is starting nearly 3.15 seconds after the video shows I'm talking. I tried to do the Group, remove from, then slide the audio. I just won't work. Could it be my camera's format that is causing the issue? I've watched Steve Grisetti's 8 video tutorial and Tech Dive AVCLUB'S and I'm doing what they say. Am I being stupid and missing something. I'm seriously ready to delete all my videos and give up completely. I've put so much work into trying to create my Youtube Channel and I keep having setbacks.

I tried that and it just would not sync up. 😫I'm currently refilming the video without me being physically in it. I'm going to see if it's just a better way for me to film. I appreciate all your help.

Out-of-sync video on the Vegas timeline is not normal, nor should it be expected. Ungrouping and slipping the tracks is a last resort, not a front line fix.

martin, being a new user himself, may not have known that the first thing we need to troubleshoot synchronization problems are the MediaInfo and Vegas file properties, and possibly an uploaded sample, as described in this essential post from the Forum Moderators. Pay particular attention to the information requested in Section "C" of that post. Often, Variable Frame Rate footage is the culprit, and is routinely addressed here, but without the required information, who could possibly know?

Please make a note of it, @martin

Thank you so much for the information. I'm still learning and your videos have helped me so much. I followed your YouTube channel and I've watched your videos and have them saved so I can refer back to them. I'm also in the process of saving up for your book.
