Video capture from S-Video to HDMI to Sony Movie Studio

I have Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 running on a Windows 10 Home computer. This computer has an HDMI port on the motherboard. I also have a Sony Handycam Hi8 Video camcorder, and tons of Hi8 video tapes. I am looking to capture from these tapes using Movie Studio to MP4 files. The camcorder has S-Video out, and the computer has HDMI. So, if I were to purchase an adapter to go from S-Video to HDMI, such as https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V2ULHBS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A36PN40E750046&psc=1 would I then be able to capture the videos with Movie Studio?

The HDMI is probably an output, not an input. and as Cornico stated Vegas will only capture from Firewire.

Hi8 is an analog format. That's why there is no firewire output. Lot's of ways to capture it, just not through a digital input.
