Video changing sync on it's own throughout editing process

Movie Studio 17 Platinum (Build 204) - AMD Radeon Pro WX 2100

I'm editing recorded footage from a zoom meeting (mp4) and I will snip it down when it's grouped, then move it to a place on the time table.

When I go back to it, the video and audio are completely out of sync and the video is playing from a different portion of the video all together. Audio is still clear, but video is glitchy, and sometime when I scrub the cursor it's lined up, and other times it is from 10-15 seconds later in the clip (even though that part is clipped out)

It's happening with numerous different clips all recorded at different times.

I've even tried to render a few spots where it's happened to see if it is just the preview, and some renders are perfect like I had it, and others are de-synced and all over the place (the video glitchy and looks like I've edited in an exorcism clip)

Sounds like your "Ignore Event Grouping" button got turned on somehow?

Zoom video isn't great, but I haven't experienced either of these problems; you're sure some of the glitching isn't in your recording?

There are a few parts where it's glitchy or skippy because of it being a zoom recording. But over all, it's like Movie Studio is having a hard time reading where in the video it wants to preview.
It literally changes by the second. I will preview the same clip over and over again, and some runs it shows it perfectly synced with the audio, like :50 - 1:20 - then I will scrub back to the beginning and start that section over again and the audio will play unchanged, but the video will be playing from 1:15 - 1:45, even when I haven't moved or affected the clip in any way except by moving the cursor through it.

My ignore event grouping button is deselcted...and it doesn't seem to matter if the tracks are grouped or ungrouped, it still changes every few previews.

 

I even started a completely new project, brought one of the clips in...snipped it a few times, and tested it, and it started doing it again.
