I mean a mouse rather than a Jog Shuttle 2 PRO device

I think any mouse with many configuring buttons that is comfortable for you will do the trick.

I like my SteelSeries Rival 500 (and use at least 7 mouse buttons most of the time).

However, in VP I'm using keyboard, not all these mouse buttons.

Whatever mouse you might consider, try it out first. There might be any number of programmable buttons and wheels on it, but the sheer size of the mouse may make it difficult and/or uncomfortable to use. If you have a really large-sized hand, this will be less of an issue.

A mouse is more a personal preference item. One size does not fit all (physically and figuratively)..

Wireless.

If you have a really large-sized hand, this will be less of an issue.

It not that simple. For example, my hand is bigger than my wife's hand but her mouse is bigger is she likes it. I absolutely do not like the mouse.

I use a separate phone/tablet running Unified Remote where I put common commands I can do with my non-mousing hand but if you'd rather a mouse, just buy a gaming mouse and customize the buttons to the commands you would rather perform with your mouse hand. Most have profiles you can load per-program.

System 1:

Windows 10
i9-10850K 10 Core
128.0G RAM
Nvidia RTX 3060 Studio driver [most likely latest]
Resolution        3840 x 2160 x 60 hertz
Video Memory 12G GDDR5

System 2:

Lenovo Yoga 720
Core i7-7700 2.8Ghz quad core, 8 logical
16G ram
Intel HD 630 gpu 1G vram
Nvidia GTX 1050 gpu 2G vram
