Video imported at 90 degrees instead of the right way up

John-Jenkins wrote on 12/5/2020, 2:32 PM

Does anyone know why my footage is being imported at 90 degrees rather than the right way up?

I am using the new DJI Osmo 4 gimble and the DJI Mimo app.
The footage is being recorded on an iPhone 12 Pro Max

The footage is fine once I have imported it to my desktop.
It plays the right way up etc. It's only when I import the footage to Vegas Pro 17 or 18 that the problem occurs.

Other footage recorded on the phone without using the gimple and App seems to work OK

So it appears to be a problem caused by the DJI app.
I have contacted DJI support who have told me to contact Sony Vegas as they do not know about the software etc.

I have also searched online and unable to find anyone else suffering from the same issue
Cheers

Vegas doesn't read iPhone rotation flags, I believe that's all it is.

Several ways to rotate it for Vegas output.

Thank goodness someone who doesn't expect the NLE to do everything automatically.😁👍

Well, cell phone media sometimes giving unexpected 'surprises'...

Yep, I had to manually rotate it too few times.
