Video Not Showing In Editor

Hello Vegas Community,

Windows 10

I have Vegas Pro 18, and my video is not showing once dragged to the editor. Audio is working fine.

I looked online for a solution and tried taking out the compoundplug.dll file out of the directory. This did not work.

I installed a fresh version of Vegas Pro 18. Graphic card drivers are up to date.

Can anyone off a solution?

Brian

@brian-dixon8013 Hi read this link https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/important-information-required-to-help-you--110457/ MediaInfo is prob the thing you need to get an answer, https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo download it, it will show when you right click on the file, copy the text in the view option & paste on here

Did you remember to place the cursor at the beginning of the video event once it loaded?

Do other video files playback normally? As was previously stated, see **IMPORTANT!** - INFORMATION REQUIRED TO HELP YOU and the file's attributes with MediaInfo if it is file specific

I had similar problems as discussed in this Page:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/canon-5d-mark-iv-all-i-files-misbehaving-in-vp18-new-laptop--131702/

The post by Todd-d ticked within the green icon appeared to be the solution as it got me back to work. However that did not work consistently and sometimes I had to tick/untick the various options and save in different options to get it working again. One moment a set configuration would be fine and then on the next launch I would have to save a different set. Strangely it could be "worse" and freeze if I had a separate monitor attached. Perhaps its just my hardware and software configuration but since its all new and relatively high-end and not highly personalised its frustrating for sure.

I still use Vegas Pro (18) for all my paid work but I have added Davinci Resolve Studio 17 (the paid version with a Speed Editor keyboard) and plan to get fluent in that just in case. There are substantial differences and gotyas between the two apps so try the free version first if you are thinking of running both. Big gotyas with DR17 free version include a lack of GPU support for fast rendering and inabilty to run on a 2nd monitor. Both Vegas 18 and DR17 now run Pluraleyes.

Simple question (only to exclude things):

If you have checked "Clipboard", no preview can be seen, but sound can be heard.
