Videos come out ruined using HEVC 30 frame render

Kyle-Rogers wrote on 10/26/2018, 1:50 PM

I have tried this with a bunch of clips recorded on a Canon Vixia. Some in 30 FPS and some in 60i FPS

If I render in HEVC 30 frames per second (or 29.97) The audio is horribly out of sync and gets worse as the video goes on. I also notice that the file will say 25 frames per second in the details tab when I click properties in windows. It also says 1088 for height instead of 1080.

The properties in Vegas Pro will be set to 30 frames. When I put a clip recorded in 60i on the timeline and it asks me to match the properties of the video, it will automatically set to 30 frames.

If I render in AVC 30 frames, I get a dramatically much bigger file size, but the audio is in sync and it says 1080 and 30 frames a second in the details tab in windows. The audio is in sync when I play it.

If I render HEVC 25 frames per second, the audio is in sync.

I used Cyberlink Powerdirecter for a long time and usually rendered in HEVC 30 frames per second and never had any problems.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

With me no problem with that kind of renders.
Is it possible to give us the MediaInfo of the 30fps footage and show us a screenshot of the your (customized?)rendertemplate ?

Here is my template settings

I downloaded mediainfo. I took a file from my canon that says AVC 29.97 frames per second

When I render in HEVC 30 frames, mediainfo says the resulting render is only 25 frames per second. The audio is horribly out of sync.

When I render in AVC 30 frames, mediainfo says the resulting files is 30 frames per second. The audio is in sync. The file size is about 500% larger.

The original file from the canon is about 500 MB, the AVC-30 render is about 250 MB, and the HEVC-30 render is about 50 MB.

When I render the same thing as HEVC-25, i end up with a file that is about 60 MB, it is 25 frames per second, and the audio is in sync.

You did not give the rendertemplate ( that is something else than the project properties) and also gave not the MediaInfo asked for, so I'm sorry I can't help you.

What do you mean by render template?

Here is the mediainfo on the file

When you've found the Vegas render template and full MediaInfo readout, do feel encouraged to post back with screenshots.

Ok, I found the button that says custom template in the render menu. I have never changed anything.
