Visuals don't appear at the beginning of the clip; they appear late.

I recently purchased Vegas Pro 17 brand new and am operating on Windows 10. I'm using all default settings. I have a major problem while editing. When I insert an image, which is snapped to the grid (it's a music video, and I set the grid to match my bpm, so that's fine). When I insert an image, it doesn't appear at the start of the clip; it appears late, which in turn makes it off beat.

@UnXpected - A screengrab of the Timeline would help?

Pasting works from the cursor forward.

My standard practice is to Paste, then drag the new event back to align the end, without disturbing the cursor. Takes but a second.

The cursor is placed where the clip actually appears which, as you can see, is after the beginning of the pasted clip.

This image is zoomed in more.

A "frame" is the smallest discrete unit for aligning video events. Your new event is correctly aligned with a project frame boundary. One cannot attempt to subdivide those boundaries without causing timeline terror.

I suggest using "Time and Frames" as your scale for that reason.

Snapping and Quantize to Frames must be ON. Project should match media. Align video frames to project frame boundaries, although the cursor may not be. That's the only way it will work consistently.
