I captured a video, Bob Dylan--No Direction Home. The level is probably 10db difference between Dylan speaking and the level of the music. In order to hear Dylan, I gotta turn the volume up, and then the song starts and it is WAY too loud. Thru out the video there is probably hundreds of transitions between the 2, almost too many to adjust the sound. Before I converted the edited .mp4 to .m2ts, using the Sony AVC/MVC, AVCHD 1280x720, customize template, Audio tab-- I checked the Automatic Gain Control, hoping that would even the audio level. I don't think it made any difference. Playing the .m2ts file in VMS, the audio level when Dylan speaks is jumping between -36 and -24 on the audio track meter. When he sings, it is at times is above -12. These are VERY old songs, when he was a kid playing in NYC, so the fidelity is lousy!
Maybe the Auto Gain Control is does not work saving an mp4 to a m2ts???
Other then making separate clips for each music section and reducing the level by 10db, is there any real Gain control I could use, perhaps a plugin?
I could separate the audio & video tracks and perhaps edit the audio in Audcity, hopefully not loose sync!
And help will be appreciated,
Ron
