VP 18 Slow Rendering

Gabriel-Argelles wrote on 1/5/2023, 7:44 PM

I don't know if this is common, but Vegas is taking ages to render a 4k 60 fps video. The same project, but rendered in Premiere Pro, took about 25 minutes, while Vegas used 20 hours...Clearly something is wrong, but not with the hardware. The editor is barely using any CPU or RAM (4% and 900 MB).

I just wanna know if someone has a solution to this problem (a special configuration or any additional installation instructions), but this rendering times are...unacceptable.

If the information is useful, I have a R5 5600X, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM 3200 MHZ, a Radeon 5700 XT and a 256 GB ADATA SSD. I'm using vegas 18.0.0.527.

The Community Rules clearly state:

3. Avoid repeated or meaningless topics

Many problems have already been discussed in the vegascreativesoftware.info community, with solutions being already available for them. We recommend using the search feature to look for an answer to your question before opening a new thread. This helps the forum remain uncluttered and cuts down on the number of posts with the same content. Cross posting, i.e. spreading around the same content in multiple categories should be avoided.

Do not make posts that lack informative input. This includes posts that consist of only 1 to 3 words (e.g. to acknowledge the post before yours) or posts that only contain emoticons. The editors and moderators will delete these kind of posts if they become aware of them. Unnecessary quotes may also be shortened or deleted. We all want to find the right information as quickly as possible and not have to read through a wall of emojis first.

For general questions, the following information is required. Asking the same question four times will not get you a better answer. Please, out of respect for your peer forum members, remove three threads or they will be removed for you.

Too many variables to say much.

See what times you get on a standard benchmark and if they are consistent with others users with similar hardware. It also gives some good starting points for render templates.

Did you figure it out, I have quite a bit of a better computer, with the exact same issue.

@Gabriel-Argelles You might not be comparing apples to apples. Both Resolve and Premiere FORCE hardware encoding on you now, it's like a default so that's what you're used to, with Vegas you have to choose hardware encoding
