Weird Chromakey Suddenly Happening?

KurtMax wrote on 2/4/2019, 9:11 AM

Greetings to all! I have been using Vegas for years, current Vegas 13 Pro, I am suddenly getting a weird chromakey issue. Can someone please tell me why the further I move my chromakeyed picture across to the left I start getting green showing up? I know these videos are two different size formats but how can the green be showing if the clip is chromakeyed?

In the 2nd pic you can see the bird keyed out but as I move the picture across the screen the green starts showing up ???

TIA

Because you added a green background?

Your bird wasn't shot against a green background, so if you are trying to isolate (mask) it, chromakey is the wrong tool 🙃

Have you tried the Mask button lower left?

Great tutorials on YT and elsewhere.

If you want to move your frame use Track Motion instead of Pan/Crop.

Thank you both, on a hunch I opened a new project and started it at 1080 and re-imported the media, chromakeyed it again and it worked without a hitch. I then copied the working clip from the New project into the old and it works fine now.

Starting over is good too...

Everything he was doing originally looks good to me.  I suspect that the "split screen / bypass Fx" button in the viewer window had been activated.  That little sliver of green in the middle photo appears just left of the crop marker that indicates the center of the screen.

Tim, thanks for that, I think you are right, ran into a bug using magic bullet and hit the split screen view by mistake. I did not even realize it until you mentioned it here. That will save me some time next occasion.
