I recently found a cheap price on an Intensity Pro video card that has the HDMI and analog inputs. From what I read, they say that if you capture from your camera's HDMI rather than record to the memory card, that you are getting uncompressed video. Is this true, does the compression happen during the recording process? Can HDMI pass uncompressed video? I have the card working with Vegas V12 (I know it is old, but it works well for me). I can even record with it, but only in SD format. I didn't think it would capture from the card at all. Playback is whatever resolution I send it up to 1080p. Anyway, I was curious to see what you all know about cameras and compression
When does compression happen when shooting/recording
