YouTube'r post video on how to fix VP17 crashes

This is a YouTube video from "Scrapyard" on tweaks to stabilize VP17. I'm not endorsing it and disabling certain features can lead to other issues with the software. But I was curious if anyone has tried any of these fixes and what are the implications.

Already done the so4 and this is good (I don't have HEVC), the opencl not sure about maybe someone can comment. The dynamic RAM changed to 1/3 of available ram was bad sound was choppy - much better as 0.

My Samsung NX1 digital camera creates HEVC (H.265) encoded video files so I would not change a setting that wouldn't allow me to drop my H.265 files directly onto the timeline.

so4 advice is good, OpenCL advice is nonsense, and the rest is so user/system specific that my Vegas wouldn't render a frame if I followed it.

Again, generalizing one's personal experiences and choices to envelope an audience is silly, if all we're doing is promoting mediocrity.

Just tried one item for fun, The OpenCL item. I tested the render time on the Benchmarking project on my laptop, went from 1:13s to 1:09s, so definitely better. Put it back though because not sure of implications.

Other issues may arise if you disable so4compound. This DLL enables to decode several types of video without the need of Quicktime being installed.

The trouble is for some reason, which I thought had been fixed, it takes 3 times to load a project.
