So this has been going on since I got the program in December of 2020 , What will happen is I will put down a video I have , ( usually footage from my elgato game capture ) and when I start to play the video , parts from later in the time line will play where it isn't their and even play at a more distorted or faster pitch . the only fix that I can make since these past two updates is saving the project , exiting out and restarting . I have tried straight reinstalling the software twice and on both attempts but that did nothing. I've always look up videos but nobody seems to have my specific problem .

Here's The Media Info for the video I used having a problem :

Try rendering the audio to a new track(s) in a PCM format in the 'Tools' menu. There is a HOS script and possibly a VP script.

what do you mean pcm?

Pulse Code Modulation
Normally has a <.wav> (Wave) file extension and is an uncompressed (data) format.
Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) is another PCM format that also uses the <.wav> file extension. BWF files' audio is the same but contains more metadata options like timecode.
Occasionally one my receive an PCM format audio file from a Mac user with a <.aif> extension.

thanks but that didn't work , the rendered version of the project just has the same screeches and distortions . I have been able to restart the program a few times and have it not show up tho .

The mp4a-40-2 codec is allegedly flaky.
VideoReDo may be able to repair the file. Otherwise, try rendering an intermediary in HandBrake and load that to VP..
