Audio out of sync after render

DentonVision wrote on 5/26/2018, 6:39 AM

Long time user but new to this version.

When viewing the timeline (preview) the audio and video are correctly synchronized.    After I render it there is substantial lag (1 sec ish) between the audio and Video tracks.    Previously  just hit "Make a movie" and it rendered fine.

  • Tried shutting down all other apps - did not seem to impact
  • Tried several formats - but no noticeable change

In addition to your Vegas and MediaInfo file properties, which I'm sure Eric wants to see first, list all the players you have tested your file in, whether it was a dvr/pvr recording, and whether you see any dropped frames or hiccups in the original file.

Shot in the dark, but check out the sample rate of the source, the project and your rendering template. Drifting like that with digital audio is most often due to sample rate mismatch..

Cris, it's nearly impossible for Vegas to impose sample rate errors, unless the source header is miswritten, and that would be one rare bird! Also, the drift would get worse, not 1 second throughout.

By far, an unfixed transport stream or dropped frames is more common and more suspect.

That is especially why we need to see those file properties. Thanks.

True that, it would drift and not be constant..

Also, the OP would have to tell us which PLAYERS in which the desync is noticed. QuickTime is notorious for this, as are other software players when faced with ridiculously high bandwidth (also called bitrate).

But, since it is the user's first and only post, he may not feel like bothering with coming up with the needed information. A bit sad when it happens.

Or maybe the problem resolved itself as they haven't come back!
