Audio Track defaults -- WHY ?

xberk, I presume that the designers thought that including the most common audio fx (comp, noise and eq) as a default on new tracks (and set as you rightly say to neutral settings ie to do nothing) would save people time in not having to go and find them every time in the long list of fx. It mystified me at first but once you know they aren't actually doing anything unless you make adjustments, you just ignore them. Strange though. Maybe there's a preference setting that doesn't include them on new tracks.

Right-click your audio track header.
Select Standard Track Properties.
Disable Track-FX.
Click OK.

Open the audio track fx window and delete the three standard fx (no fx must be in there then).
Close the audio track fx window.

Right-click the audio track header.
Select Standard Track Properties.
Enable Track-FX again.
Click OK.

Now adding new audio tracks won't contain any fx.

They are there as a convenience, nothing else. Been that way since Vegas 2.

I delete them immediately and have none as a default. The gate sucks but the others are .. usable. I prefer my third-party favorites when audio processing is needed.

Vegas user since ver 1.0. (That and a good MTA Metro card will get me on the A train)
