hi all,

I want to know which Sony Vegas Pro version i could install in my laptop and below are the specifications,

Dell Inspiron 5521

Windows 8.1

Intel Core i7-3537U @ 2.00 GHz

AMD Radeon HD 8500M/8700M

8GB RAM

Cores: 2

Please let me know if any other specification is needed to determine the best version for my laptop.

Your response is very much appreciated.

Your laptop is underpowered for any version of Vegas, unfortunately.

A seventh generation i7, 16-32 GB RAM, and preferably a Turing card, on Windows 10 are where you need to begin, if you plan on doing 4k.

Occasionally, you may find much older copies of Vegas that will edit HD on your system, but they are not supported and are probably a waste of money.

Like Ian, I would recommend a version no newer than 4 years after your laptop was released. I used 12 with a similar system.

You could try "Sony Creative Software Imagination Studio 3 V.3" that you can get on amazon. It comes with DVDA 5, though. That's a really old one that was my first purchase into this line of product. It's from when before Sony sold this software to Magix. You can only get it on amazon on DVD now.

Otherwise, personally, I'd try Vegas 17 and probably have issues but I'm not sure if it would REFUSE to run, though.

VP8 runs OK on my dual core Windows 7 laptop.
