Black frames in timeline

Hey All, I've been using Vegas for a long time, but I only just upgraded to the new version (20).

I'm having an issue where my clip is going black at random places and videos just aren't going as smoothly as previous (ancient) versions of Vegas. Like 8!

Here's an example: https://www.loom.com/share/6944776f30ad4157b57e6651c39f34a7

Wondering what's going on?

I tried turning off GPU acceleration and restarting my computer, but the same exact issue is still going on.

I'm on Windows 10. Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?

Appreciate any help! ✌

@David-Anthony

I noticed that you have 25p source media in a 29.97p project. What is the state of the Resample Mode switch?

A lot has changed from Vegas Pro 8 to 20.

I appreciate the responses!

It seems that Vegas wasn't liking the mp4 format of the videos. I encoded them through Handbrake with the Production Standard setting and it worked.

How's this original MP4 made or encoded?

If you can share one sample MP4 shot via google drive / dropbox, perhaps can be analyzed.

Mediainfo data of that MP4 video can be shared:

My guess would be that it was variable framerate footage (possibly from a phone) that didn't decode well in Vegas.
