I'm using version 16 (Build 142) and when I render videos, in the output file sometimes I get part of the video where it's just a black screen. It's not consistent or predictable, even rendering the same project twice using the same encoding settings will produce different results. It's a royal pain because I end up with a video that's 20-40 minutes long that may or may not have anywhere from a few seconds to 30 minutes of blank video. (Good luck finding it, but your viewers all will after you've published.) It also shows video in the preview screen as it is rendering to the output file. It's somehow being lost in the encoding process. I have other rendering/encoding software on this PC (handbrake, videostudio, OBS) and Vegas is the only one that does this.
Is this a known issue and is there a fix for it?
I'm using (various) HEVC or H264 codecs and bitrates, NVenc, QSV, etc etc, trying to find something that consistently does not have these problems, but with no luck so far. (And also is uploadable to youtube, and also doesn't make a gigantic file that takes all day to upload.) My system is:
Core i7-4790K @ 4,0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1070. (All stock, no overclocking, no special cooling or anything.)
I also have had this happening on several versions of nvidia drivers, including the latest (441.12) as of this post.
