I've done this in a competing product, but I dislike said product and love Vegas Movie Studio.
Linking a second track to a bezier mask works pretty well for adding text or something to track with it. But, what if I want that spot to hold still at a point in the frame? It's a very effective form of stabilization because it stabilizes the frame right where I want it. But, I haven't figured out how to do it in Vegas Movie Studio 16.

From what I get, your intention is to keep the text on that particular place
I would cut off the text event on that spot and make of the last frame and place a still by the button provided for this above the preview screen and add that still to the text track and track event.
Thanks. Actually, I want the whole track to stabilize around a point. Say there's a distinctive rock in frame and I want that rock to stay at the same point in the frame (e.g. 15% in from the left, 45% up from the bottom) for the whole clip.

If I understand you correctly, I don't believe the tracking feature in Studio Platinum has the precision needed to stabilize a series of frames around an object (which itself would have to be stationary relative to the scene), and doing so could create literally thousands of keyframes, with all of their concomitant problems, including memory loading. Certainly a large amount of cropping would seem necessary to hide "border reveal," more so than conventional stabilizing.

As you can hear from the narrator, even simple Bezier tracking can be a bit "iffy," but I'm sure that will improve over time.
