When I try to add a .MTS video file created by a Sony camcorder, Vegas Studio 17 crashes.
Vegas Studio 14 and the same .mts file works without a problem. The same .mts file works on my laptop with Studio 17.
When I navigate to Add media Vegas Studio 17 crashes:
Problem Description
Application Name: Movie Studio Platinum
Application Version: Version 17.0 (Build 204)
Problem: Unmanaged Exception (0xe06d7363)
Fault Module: C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll
Fault Address: 0x00007FF894D0FC9C
Fault Offset: 0x000000000006FC9C
Note: When Vegas crashes, it occurs the instant I click on the file, as if just 'reading' the file causes the problem. (e.g.: I can navigate to the directory with the file, and see the file in the window, but if I interact (like to simply click on it for selection, not even to open it) that action causes the violation. Also, when I drag the .mts video over the Vegas window, the .mts file turns to the "No" symbol (a circle with a line through it.)
My desktop PC is Windows 10 (Home, Insider, Build 21322), nVidia GTX 1650 Super Driver 465.51 (Current)

I have installed Vegas on a laptop (Windows 10 Home, 2004, Build 19041.804) and do not have a problem. I compared the "Components" in Vegas-Help-About and they are identical.
Any suggestions on troubleshooting?
