Cannot Render VST Plug-in in Vegas Pro 13

Adam_Janz wrote on 12/30/2020, 4:42 PM

Hi Vegas users,

I cannot succeed in getting the Accusonus Era 4 Voice Leveler (VST plug-in) to render in Vegas Pro 13. It plays perfectly fine on the timeline, but does not render. Applied at the track level. Nothing is bypassed. Is this a known issue? Any thoughts or workarounds (other than recording the output of the timeline)? Thanks.

Best regards,
Adam Janz

Is it the same when applied to a master or sub-master bus?
VP-13 does not support VST 3 plugs if that is the format.
Can you try it with Sound Forge?

Thanks Rick for the reply. The main issue was not rendering the VST plug in from a regular audio track, although I tested it in multiple combinations including the effect just by itself on a bus track and it did not render either. I am wondering if installing only the 2 Accusonus plug-ins I needed somehow caused an error? Should the entire Accusonus Era 4 bundle have been installed? It seems crazy to think that could somehow affect it since it works perfect on the timeline. (EDIT: I do not have Sound Forge to test it with)

I do not have, or am I familiar with the Accusonus plug-ins. You could try moving the pertinent <.dIl> file to another VST folder. I would not think the entire bungle would need to be installed, or it would not be available as all, especially if there is an option to choose.
It could be a trial or demo limitation if that is what you have. I have experienced 'that' behavior before with other plug-ins. Otherwise contact Accusonus tech support ..or .. if they have a users forum, try there.

Thanks, Rick! Happy New Year to you. Yes, I thought maybe it could be a demo limitation but this was a Not For Resale giveaway by Accusonus, so was fully functional. I have contacted Accusonus, will post back here if the issue is ever resolved. At present, I have simply live-recorded the output of the timeline to a new track. It's a suitable workaround for now. :-)

And there is my answer to my separate question about Toneboosters plugins; the newer ones like Barricade 4 are VST3.

I heard back from Accusonus, and it's a known issue with Vegas that they are working to fix. The workarounds they suggested in the meantime are:

1) Use real-time render in Magix Vegas
2) Print the Voice Leveler processing to a new track

Both of these solutions work -- and although I had previously used option 2 as a workaround, I had no idea about the "Real-time Render" feature in Vegas Pro all these years, so I ended up learning something new. :-)
