Capture Sony FX7 Extra frames end of every event (Clip)

Been using Sony Vegas Pro 10 a few years. All my captures using scene detection with different Sony FX7 cameras result in clips having two or three frames at end of the clip that belong to the next clip. A bug I guess. So now I am trying Vegas 17 trial and it is still exactly the same! Capture on Movie Studio, exactly the same! What is it with this bug? Very irritating to edit, you have to trim the end of every last clip or there is a jump in video and there are three frames of audio missing. Consistent and constant. Any help? Can't find much by searching. Thanks.

How are you capturing your video?

Firewire straight to Vegas Vidcap or something else?

Yes, always capture HDV with firewire using the capture utility within Vegas. Two versions of Vegas plus now Movie Studio. This occured with Vegas 10 on Windows 7 and now different laptop with Windows 10 trying all three versions of Sony product. Have tried with Canon XH-A1 also ... Problem identical. Same cameras capture perfect on older desktop using Scenelyzer for just DV.

In Vegas Vidcap, see if it works better with Device Control turned off.

For HDV tape capture, also try HDVSplit as an alternative to Vidcap.

Never had such an issue with XH-A1, did many shows with them.

Never used DV capture (Vidcap) before as always do HDV editing on Vegas. I gave it a try, and it split scenes perfect with or without "Device Control". Too bad that option not available in HDV capture.

So as you suggested tried HdvSplit program. Got it to connect and did a test capture. Yes, seems to work fine with my FX-7. Plus added benefit of date/time display on clip names.

Thanks so much, I don't know why I did not try this five years ago! Live and learn (with help) :)
