Change default location where veg files are saved

wjauch wrote on 11/26/2020, 6:09 PM

My last laptop has died and I am trying to improve organization on a new one. Files from Word, Excel etc and Vegas to be in their own subfolder in the documents folder. I'd like to change Vegas so by default the veg files are saved in c:\users\myname\documents\vegas. I assume this can be done, but I can't find it under preferences options, Vegas help is no use on this, and Google does not find it. Can it be done?

There isn't a global setting for this, but when you go to save a veg file, select File/Save As and then use the 'Save In' field at the top of the window that opens to locate and select the folder where you want to save the veg file. You should find that Vegas Pro will remember that folder for all subsequent veg file saving even for other projects.

TY Dexcon. Having to specify the directory only the first time is good news. Strangely when I reinstalled MS Office 2000 (not a typo), it has option to change default file save location

Vegas NEEDs some default file settings.

1. When you start a Vegas session it should look in the Session Subfolders for the files

2. When you start a Vegas session it should create the following folders AUTOMATICALLY

A. Video Files

B. Audio Files

C. Rendered Files

3. Render should default to Rendered Files in the Subfolder of the current Session

4. When you "create a copy in Audio Editor" it should be saved in the Audio Files folder under the current session folder.

Not having these defaults just creates more needless work for the editor.
