Change Video Capture from webcam to 1080p?

Currently using Magix Vegas Pro 18. Under video capture, is there a way to change the source resolution from the webcam from 480p to 1080p? It appears that Magix is still using the DV encoder, which processes video in 480p, but with modern webcams, is it possible to record in 1080p?

That part is correct. DV is captured through a 1394 firewire port. It was not designed to capture from your USB webcam.

Try using the screen capture utility via the File menu.
