Choppy Video Render

Hi everybody,

I am a total newbie here. I just bought Movie Studio 13, and I am making a Udemy promo video. I recorded my footage with my Nikon DSLR camera, and it came out very well. But when I render it in Movie Studio, it looks weird, very choppy (?), it's not smooth like my camera footage. I was using NTSC 1920x1080 30fps in my camera. And I rendered it in Studio with these settings: Main Concept AVC/AAC. Internet HD I080,29.970 (NTSC). I tried checking and unchecking allow source to adjust frame rate box. Both led to jerky video. Plus, part of the video turned black and indicates no audio. I tried cutting that section off in the timeline, but no matter what I do it remains. I have a PC with Windows 8.1

How do I fix these issues?

Thank you for your help

Are you talking about the Vegas preview or playback in a player?

Hi Musicvid, thanks for responding. I am referring to the actual playback in a player. To me, there is a notable diminishment of quality and a jerky feel to it.

It may be helpful to post the post the properties of your input video clip and your rendered video for troubleshooting. Also, if you render multiple times, does it always go black in the same place?

Although it's written for Vegas Pro, some of the points in this thread should help, and it also describes what info to post to make it easier for others to help you.
