Hi Wayne. Hope you're keeping well. A small bug I reported before but doesn't seem to have been addressed. If I click on the HappyOtter Help icon Vegas crashes immediately. This happens in both Vegas Pro 13 and 15. Makes it difficult to check for updates.
Also I don't seem to be getting the automated messages when updates become available anymore. I'm on Win 10 Pro 64 bit.
Hi Wayne. Thanks for the quick reply. Apologies I missed your reply to my original report.
However - I've just installed version 1.0.3.22 and Vegas still crashes if I click on the Help icon. I updated from 1.0.3.20 straight to 1.0.3.22, so maybe missing out on the 1.0.3.21 is causing the problem? Not sure how to find a link for 1.0.3.21 or if that will even help.
I've just created a new tool which enables the user to quickly preview ONLY a selected area of the frame. It's similar to KwikPreview, except the user can first zoom in only to a specific area of interest. It would seem especially valuable for laptop users in which screen area is usually quite limited.
I have installed HOS + AudioSyncR on a machine with VP20. Unfortunately, no Extension nor Scripts show up in VP20, related to HOS or AudioSyncR. How do I get HOS to show up in VEGAS Pro 20?
I've just had one other user report the same problem when only V20 is installed. For those upgrading from a previous version, no problem. All of the required HOS extensions can be found in the following folder: C:\ProgramData\HappyOtterScripts\Magix Vegas Pro\Extensions. Copy those files to the following folder: C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\Application Extensions. Let me know if that solves the problem.
I am having the same problem with Vegas Pro 20. I installed HOS latest build, and there is no script for HOS in Vegas Tools/Scripting menu. I have build # 1.3.0.17 that will show up in Vegas Pro 20. As soon as I update or do a clean install of HOS to build 1.0.3.22 no scripts show up.
I tried what you suggested above and when I go to C:\ProgramData\HappyOtterScripts\Magix Vegas Pro\Extensions, I only show a Scripts folder that is empty when I open it. I have show all hidden files and folders turned on. When I go to C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\Application Extensions, I see 2 .dll files. I have included these.
@wwaag One note for possible troubleshooting: When I ran the Happy Otter Scripts installer, neither Sony Vegas nor Magix Vegas 13-20 options got automatically checked. I manually checked the box for Magix Vegas 13-20, but I think (per the help file) that it's supposed to automatically detect and check the appropriate box(es). Therefore, something unique about the VP20 installation may cause HOS installer to not recognize it??
"No, it doesn't automatically tick. You must do that."
Correction. Yes it does. You must untick if you don't want either Sony or Magix. Same goes for the other options on the dialog except for creating a restore point.
Hi Wayne. Installed 1.0.3.23 and got a message saying there were some errors and to send the log file to support. I'm afraid I missed the email address in the message.
There is no way to attach a file on the HOS support form and cannot attach log (or txt or zip) files here.
