Crash importing m2ts AVCHD video, with V18, bought V19 same crash

Ira-Grollman wrote on 8/7/2022, 5:09 PM

V19 fails enumerating plugs ins. Uninstalled Live2Stream as it installs Titler Pro 7 that doesn't work with Intel video chips. Also has Matrox G200eh.

FWIW V10 open this file without any issue!

Windows 2019 server running on Proliant DL360 Gen 9 dual CPU chip Xeon E5-2643 V3, 192 GB memory, about 143 GB free. Can't upload system info text file. TB's of free disk storage.

Can you upload the video to Drive or Dropbox? I have no problem opening these files in VP18 or VP19 (one is rendering now), so I'd like to see if transport stream errors are causing your problem

@Ira-Grollman

Disable any reference to any video adapter in Options/Preferences/Video and Options/Preferences/File-I/O.

Have you gotten any type of video to open with this system configuration?

Nothing about your system looks like a spectacular candidate for running Vegas Pro 19. Especially this: Matrox G200eh

Look at the processor, O/S, video adapter requirements, etc.

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/specifications/

Is a Xeon E5 older than a "Sixth Generation Intel Core"

About the time Vegas Pro 10 was the thang, I had access to pallets of DL360s and DL380s and I used to pull one off the e-waste pallet and run tests on server hardware for various purposes like Vegas trials, Windows 8.1 beta, Windows 10 beta. It was curiosity more than a need to get anything done.

File is at https://spaces.hightail.com/receive/u8VN9zDVaF

options that refer to the GPU were already off. Enable QSV encoding/decoding (where available) is on. This E5 is considered a 6th generation core processor microarchitecture.

Both V18 and V19 open MP4 (rendered and native from cameras) and other formats on this system.

This is a render engine in a render farm (Maya and other packages we use support the Intel graphics card, HD 4400, that Titler Pro does not) for non-GPU accelerated formats with lots of cores, memory, redundant local RAID and 10 GB network to NAS subsystem.

Forgot to say, another of the same configuration systems has a NVIDIA Quadro M4000. I'll try to deactivate this license and move it to that system if it can be done.

@Ira-Grollman Hi n sorry that file plays perfectly Best (Full), check your GPU drivers are up to date, Studio Driver.

PS my Vegas is pretty much at default settings, nothing i've changed would affect how this file plays, but i don't have intel, no on board graphics so I don't turn off GPU without bad results but for this just for curiosity i did turn it off, & that file still played Best (Full) at full fps

@Ira-Grollman

Works on the system from my signature.

@john_dennis Hi, what told you to put it @ 5.1 Surround, was it because it said 6 channels in MInfo?

Former user wrote on 8/7/2022, 10:19 PM

These files need windows10/11 for Vegas versions 17 onwards, and the normal victims have windows7, is it possible you have the same problem, you're not using windows10 you're using windows 2019 server?

If that is the situation, Vegas16 is the last version that will work?

Although you have an unusual and elderly system

Musicvid wrote on 8/7/2022, 10:29 PM

No problems whatsoever on this end.
