Easy rendering and synching errors

Paul-Hikari wrote on 6/14/2020, 6:54 PM

Movie Studio 17 appears to ignore my project settings when rendering videos, specifically the frame rate I set. I have a video running at 12 frames per second, bu when I try to render it using the Make Movie easy option, it defaults to 30 frames per second. Furthermore, all rendered video files below 23 frames per second render with desynched sound.

The project frame rate does not affect the render frame rate.

If you do not have a Platinum version, you will not have advanced video settings.

And why is that? Because the project frame rate did affect the render frame rate when I had Movie Studio 13 Platinum. Now, I have Movie Studio 17 Platinum, and this shouldn't be happening. Furthermore, if I try to render any video below 24 frames per second, the sound desynchs, and the advanced settings do nothing to remedy this issue.

I don't have MS13 Platinum installed to check but maybe you set the render framerate to match your project framerate. With MS17 Platinum you need to do the same.

@Paul-Hikari is right. That option was in VMS Pl 13 and Magix broke that option in the versions 16 and 17. Look to my version 13

Thatswy I answered @Paul-Hikari on his other post the way I did.

And you apparently missed the part where I mentioned that even though the frame rates can be changed, f I try to render any video below 24 frames per second, the sound goes out of sync with the video.

This doesn't have much to do with version 13 or 17 afaict, even though they have different brands.

It has to do with VMS Basic vs. VMS Platinum.

Have I missed something?

@Musicvid In his post four above yours Paul does mention he's using Movie Studio 17 Platinum 😀

Noted, thanks.

To summarise, we've established that something changed between MS13 Plat and VMS17 Plat, requiring manual intervention in 17 to keep the project framerate. But @Paul-Hikari finds it doesn't work properly with framerates below 24 as audio sync is lost.

That part of his problem I did not answer, because I have not that experience because I never used that low framerates.
