Effect settings Sliders gone/corrupt display

GaryX wrote on 5/5/2019, 2:07 PM

since the last 2 updates my sliders when placing effects are gone, there is only 1 big slider but this slider is only active for the first value. Also the box for the /low/mid/high selection box is damaged, but i can choose normal, it's just the Display. And last but not least the Animate Buttons are also damaged. I cannot work this way. Everything else works, Rendering also and everything is faster now, but this bug makes editing impossible. The installations were without Problems and Errors. It's not only this Effect, every Effect i open is like this one!

Win 7 ult. 64bit

Try setting your Windows font scaling to 125% or 100% if necessary.

If your screen resolution is high, try lowering that. [Corrected]

thanks, that is the culprit.  The Problem is, that i cannot work with 100%, WAY too small everything!

I work on a 4K Monitor with it's native Resolution. So what can i do to set the size to the size i Need to be able to work and still have the functionality of everything in vegas? it seems only vegas has this Problem, haven't seen it elsewhere yet.

Set your monitor at 1080p. Running it that way won't affect your editing one bit.

well, that is no Option. It's like buying an 8k TV and only watch HD Content on it.

tastes Abit frustrating

For Preview?

Sorry, but I disagree with that. Are you unable to switch to 4k for viewing?

The feature request to use non-Windows text scaling has already been made on this forum, and I encourage you to join in those discussions (search!).

Complaining is less likely to result in a cooperative peer discussion. IOW, Good luck.

Just an opinion....I would rather edit on a 1080p monitor (which I do), or my preferred 2K (1440p) rather than a 4K, and color color correction on a 1080p. 4K big panel is good for final review and distribution preview. I think the 1440p display is the best for gaining real estate over the 1080p and avoiding the eye strain of 4K display.

Because it is so hard for people to do searches on things like this that have been prevalent for quite some time:

1. On desktop - right click on Vegas Pro Icon

2. Click on "Properties", then the "Compatibility" tab

3. Under "Settings" - click on the "change High DPI Settings"

4. Not sure what Windows 7 shows, as I am on Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit - try "override High DPI..." is available.

5. Click on "APPLY" after setting, it is always preferred than just "O.K. or Enter"

6. Reboot machine, and open Vegas Pro and see if anything changed. If not, either try a different setting or revert back. This also works for Movie Studio

Yes, this works, as I have TWO Samsung 28 Inch 3840x2160 monitors, and when there was a scaling issue, depending on the VERSION of Vegas Pro/Movie Studio your are using (oh, we don't know, by the way!) has always worked for me. Works tons in other and "older" applications as well. But, what I have found is that most of the "Scaling" issues have, for the most part, gone away with the more recent Versions of 15 and 16, Vegas Pro or Movie Studio. And, if you still have issues, it could be the "Notorious Missing Font" problem, also searchable on this forum!

I really think you should return that 4k monitor for a refund, since you can't set it to 1080p for preview and edit, and back to 4k for viewing, like many people are doing easily.

Or run two monitors at different resolutions simultaneously.

Or become part of the solution.

The one thing I have sofar been unable to do is reinvent geometry to match my entitlements. I'll graciously defer to Redmond and 3,000 B.C. Egypt on that one.

Thanks MusicVid! Had to go back up further in the posts and saw you had UNDERLINED exactly what I meant...Sorry if it came across negative to you. Guess my eyes are getting worse. That, or the 43 inch Vizio 4K TV I'm using for a monitor now, didn't SCALE correctly😉!

Just getting so frustrated trying to go through forum posts, and so many questions are the same things over and over and ov.........as you obviously know.

I really do appreciate so much of the input you provide to the forum, passing along your knowledge, as it has helped me tremendously in working within Vegas Pro and Movie Studio. Same with "Marco", "Eagle Six (so he's an Army Guy)", "kinvermark", "Set", miss "Cornico"'s inputs; seeing "Boss Man - name not given per forum policy", and "Derek" providing updates at times, and so many others. Never had the kind of "temperment" for "Sales or Public Service", so at times really have to be careful on jumping in and replying. Y'all are in a "whol' 'nutha' league"!

Thanks. And again, sorry!

It did not come across as negative to me.

Actually, @Chief24 it came across as affirmative and validating, a +10 in my book.

Not only do I agree with you, my last quote was a sign of admiration, since I am probably more likely to lose self-restraint than you. However, the characterization of your thoughts should also serve notice to users with "new" inconveniences that this is not our first rodeo.
