File synchronization. Vegas 20.

Is there any way to synchronize files like in plural eyes? I have a trial version of Audio SyncR but it doesn't work like plural eyes. Does anyone know how to change the code to make older prular eyes work in Vegas Pro 20 with new camera files, e.g. Canon Eos R7? I tried to sync many times in Happy Otter Scripts but it doesn't work like Plural Eyes. Please help.

What's the specific issues with PluralEyes? Audio synchronization does work in 20 but you are saying it fails to read the audio on a file type you are using?

What type of R7 file is it? MediaInfo

What version if your PluralEyes?

Thank you for your answer. Prular Eyes 3.2.1. Canon Eos R7 log files. The latest Vegas 20 does not support Prular Eyes 3.2.1, and there will be no newer ones as RED GIANT has finished updating this program.

It involves a whole new learning curve; AudioSyncR works far better than Pluraleyes for this user, and it is well worth your time to learn to use its capabilities. No, I know of no better alternatives at this time.

@wwaag, the author of AudioSynR has been very helpful with questions, and helped me to learn the controls. I think it will be well worth your time to learn it from scratch.

I have a trial version which may have limited features.

I see I am on PluralEyes 4 which does work with VP 20 though I haven't tested it with whatever your file type is (10 bit HEVC?)

Prular Eyes 3.2.1, and there will be no newer ones as RED GIANT has finished updating this program.

The latest is 4.1.12 or 2023.0.0https://support.maxon.net/hc/en-us/articles/5826625559452--PluralEyes-2023-0-0-September-7-2022

Here are some of the reasons why they didn't continue to develop:

Why is PluralEyes no longer being developed?

PluralEyes pioneered automatically syncing sound, providing video editors with fast and accurate capabilities when limited other options were available. These capabilities are now standard in most modern video editing tools.

What can I use instead of PluralEyes?

Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer all natively include syncing sound by waveform.

Their official reasons don't make a ton of sense- it was a mature program that worked well. I assume they are working on something else now?

Maxon fails to say that the functionality of the syncing tools in these NLE’s in usually much more rudimentary compared to what PluralEyes was able to do.

@R-P PluralEyes works very well in Vegas Pro 20. You just have to copy over its .dll file to the Vegas Extension folder.

Also their statement and reasons why they are no longer developing Plural eyes is complete and Utter Rubbish. PluralEyes is far superior than every syncing feature in every NLE on the market. So they are discontinuing it for some other reason.... PluralEyes actually was not their creation, it was an acquired tool that they made minor enhancements to.

Red Giant now Maxon has sometimes made silly and bad decisions over their many years. Sometimes they listen to their customers, sometimes they simply don't..... They are all over the place sometimes.

Thank you for all the advice. I tried to copy the file to Extensions, but I can't find such a folder in the Vegas files. How exactly do you make it work? Please help

I also noticed that when I synchronize with Happy Otter Audio, yellow markers with the name PluralEyes appear after synchronization. I think they are related programs.

Here are instructions on installing PluralEyes (just searched this forum) https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/integrate-twixtor-and-pluraleyes-programs-into-vegas-pro-19--134035/#ca835832

They are not related programs.
