Ghost audio

Jody-Nasworthy wrote on 6/20/2022, 8:24 AM

I've noticed after updating my vegas pro, now when I edit a video and it gets to the end there's a small piece of audio that plays just as the video finishes. It's super annoying. Any ideas what may be causing it? Thanks. I'm using windows 10 Vegas 19 build 636.

Is it an echo of a previous event, or something completely different. Maybe a grouped audio track with an event you are not seeing on the timeline.

Jody-Nasworthy wrote on 6/20/2022, 10:20 AM

It's like the audio is starting over or something. It's weird.

Let us see your source file properties. It may be a bug.

Can you trim it off?

@Jody-Nasworthy I get that sometimes, reloading the clip it goes away, save project & reload .veg it isn't there, sometimes it just goes away when dragging to a crossfade, but sometimes it appears because a crossfade is made 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Posted about it but got 1 reply https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/weird-lines-in-the-audio-wave--135976/ on there i posted a link to a similar post where there still wasn't a solution,

Jody-Nasworthy wrote on 8/7/2022, 1:01 PM

DMT3, Yes I can trim it off. That's what I've been doing and it's extremely frustrating and adds more work that I didn't have to do before. It seems to do it on every video that has audio attached to it, but not audio files independently. If that helps any. Thanks.

@Former user It isn't just static. It sounds like the audio from my clip is starting over, but just for a micro second. It's not done it before, now happens everytime I import a video file that has audio with it.

I am not sure it will help but try disabling looping on the suspect timeline event. Right-click the "Event, select 'Properties' and clear the check-mark for 'Loop'.

Jody-Nasworthy wrote on 8/7/2022, 3:12 PM

@rraud No it's still there.

@Jody-Nasworthy Put an @ symbol in your comments, you'll get a list of names you can [ick, they'll then get a notification of a comment directed at them,

Also can you go to your icon at the top, click it - My Profile, & fill in your Signature with your Vegas version, Windows version & system specs, full name of CPU, GPU, & amount of RAM etc. this will then show at the bottom of the comments 👍

I've just got that on the end again, bit different to yours, reimporting didn't clear it

Trimming the end from the cursor, then Ctrl+Z to undo that trim did get rid 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Jody-Nasworthy wrote on 8/9/2022, 12:03 PM

@Former user Ok. Sorry I'm new to these forums. I tried the trim and undo, but my problem is still there.

Musicvid wrote on 8/9/2022, 12:45 PM

Looks like a partial frame. Is Quantize to Frames checked? Start a new project to test.

Your file properties all look OK. Can you upload a short source clip that show the problem to Drive or Dropbox?

Jody-Nasworthy wrote on 8/10/2022, 7:01 AM

@Musicvid I really wish I could, but every time I try to record the video I can't get the same result. I see the crazy audio in vegas but it makes no sound. I quit recording, and the sound comes back. Do I just need to reinstall everything and hope it's a glitch?

Musicvid wrote on 8/10/2022, 3:31 PM

Jody, can you upload this file to Drive or Dropbox?

Former user wrote on 8/10/2022, 5:24 PM

@Jody-Nasworthy Hi, @Musicvid suggested it might be a partial end frame issue & Quantize to Frames is checked, if you zoom right in you'll see whether the clip finishes on a full frame, there's a box at the top that shows partial end frames (Quantize to Frames) by putting a red line at the end of the clip, can you have a look,?

This pic shows a partial end frame, the cursor is on the last full frame

Jody-Nasworthy wrote on 8/11/2022, 6:22 AM

@Musicvid I'm sorry for the confusion. Yes I have uploaded it to dropbox.
