How do i handle 2560x1440 gamerecordings?

jesper-g wrote on 3/3/2018, 11:58 AM

Hi all.

I used to edit videos with Wondershare video editor, but the quality is no longer good enough.
The videos i am editing are 2560x1440 resolution videogame recordings with Shadowplay.

However after buying Movie Studio Platinum 13 i discover that there is no output for that resolution either? :(

Are there any way around this?
How should my settings be for videos i upload to Youtube? (for min. loss of quality).

Thx in advance :)

XAVC-Intra will render 4k resolution.

Newer versions have hevc.

If you will search, you will find that many people here use OBS because of problems with Shadowplay.

Make your own rendertemplate by changing an existing template:

Thx 3POINT.

That made the best result so far :)
I set the settings like on the original video and only got a little quality loss.

Now i just gotta learn to use the program and try to compress the data size a little bit.

You have to make sure that the framerate in the template is the same as the framerate of your screen recording. Than you can play around with the average and maximum bitrate settings to compress the data size.

Ok, i will try.
This is the settings.
What would you try first?

Please use MediaInfo to show results of you renderings. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

The small problem you have, is that your recording has variable bitrate. Vegas or Movie Studio can only render to constant bitrate. So that is probably the little quality loss you see.
