How do I remove the pan/crop cut off?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to get used to the Movie Studio 16 and its functions, but there is one thing that highly confuses me: how do I remove the cut off from the pan/crop tool? When I use it there is an invisible box, and if I move the video/picture out of it, it fully disappears. I have seen a few videos on youtube, but their fixes don't work for me. Do you know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

You need to look at it the other way.

Pan/Crop moves the picture frame, not the picture.

You didn't tell us what you are trying to do, but I bet you really want Track Motion.

Study carefully the YouTube tutorials instead of giving up, and practice.

Two suggestions:

  1. In Pan/Crop right click on the box and select "Match Output Aspect". This sometimes solves the cut off problem.
  2. Use the Video FX "Crop". You may find this easier to use and understand than the Pan/Crop tool. There's also a Video FX "Picture In Picture". Both are relatively recent to VMS and using them avoids having to play with Track Motion.
