I spend about 2-3 hours a day with VegasPro or Vegas Moviestudio. I use it as hobbyist but also as part of my job. Furthermore I use them for troubleshooting problems which arise with the software, here and at the Dutch Vegasforum.
I am a hobbyist making 3D and 360 view videos of my SCUBA dives. I generally head down to Monterey to go diving once or twice a month---one to three dives per trip. I spend about three days of editing per dive (including stitching the 360 view clips).
Like drawing or ceramics, a day not editing is a day lost in that part of my creative being that has become like sustenance. I enjoy reading and experiencing the whole audio and graphical environment.
Presently I've got a 20 month project going to "Premiere" at a local government Conference. I keep being asked to come up with new creative ways to deal with "ordinary" pursuits. I love it! This one has been extraordinary as the main visual and audio v/o figures past away. Sad, a great chap too.
I open both my animation program and Vegas at around 4 in the morning and close both at about 9 in the evening -- year round, every day of every week. Between the two programs I spend about 1/3 of this time working in Vegas and 2/3 animating in TVP to create what I work with in Vegas. I do this at home for a living. Dtto my wife but somewhat fewer hours.

My VP use is more in-line with Musicvid. Over the years I've spent 1000's of hours with VP (starting with ver 3) as my primary source of income, but for the last few years it has fallen off to almost none. Nowadays I may spend 1 or 2 hours a month just assembling / outputting 3D animations created in Lightwave. In fact, most of my current LW work is static renders for websites and hi-res print use -- no NLE required at all.
I should have mentioned I do a lot of wildlife videos and will be doing a series on Artists for a local non-profit gallery. I do a lot of still work (most for stock now that I am retired) so when I am not imaging I spend about 4 hours a day in PS/LR. I expect to add about 20 hours a month in the artist series using PS/LR, Vegas, and Acid. I hope Magix does release ACID as after so many years with these programs my muscle memory is such that I'd hate to have to relearn a new program. (I used Movie Studio Suite for many years before I switched to Vegas, when I retired because I do a lot more complex stuff now).
kind of comes in big chunks, may be 40 plus for several weeks, maybe just a few hours looking at stuff we shot other weeks....but like Sir Grazie, I open it getting paid or not....use it or lose it is my feeling.
same goes with AE, PS any software I happen to use for editing
For heavy editing, six hours per day max. At age 69, that's my effective limit. If pushed I can do more, but it is much slower and with more re-doing as I work. Just rendering or loading files from the camera doesn't count.
