I bought Sony Vegas 13 but...are the plugins really 3000 dollars?

Jason-Pollard wrote on 2/7/2019, 5:07 PM

Hi everyone, Ive been using sony vegas for a little bit and didn't have too many problems. The thing that bugs me is that, after I looked into the plugins for sony vegas, it says that its like 3000 dollars...Is this true? or maybe I have to use some code to download the good stuff.....

What plugins? Not any made by Sony or Magix!

Third Party Plugins are available for $0 and up, and you don't have to use any of them to have a rich, powerful creative experience from Vegas' native and/or bundled effects.

Generally we purchase a plugin for a particular immediate purpose, not as something we need to "have."

That said, look at bundled plugins sometimes offered as an upgrade promotion when you move to the Magix product.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks. Do you have any links for third party plugins?

How did you buy version 13? It hasn't been on sale for years... we're on 16 now, not too far from talking about 17.

Do look into the scripts, many are free or cheap, and extend Vegas' functionality a lot.

@Jason-Pollard

Boris FX | Sapphire is full tilt when buying retail . It has a big fat price tag . or try Hitfilm's "Ignite Pro" 199 or sale some times at 149 . ( Vegas Suite comes with Ignite Pro plugins ) .

Hitfilm made lots and lots of special effect plugins . Later , Hitfilm makes their own Video Compositor Hitfilm Pro , to take full use of the Ignite Pro plugins . Most of Ignite Pro is functional in Vegas as plugins . Buying Hitfim Pro will NOT install Ignite Pro for Vegas . Ignite Pro would still need to be an extra separate purchase for Vegas . Since you have Vegas , just get "Ignite Pro" or , if you want to keep Vegas "as is" then get Hitfilm Pro for about 250 . Hitfilm Pro has a Steep learning curve . watch their videos on youtube . or , to stay with Vegas editing , just get "Ignite Pro" . I hope I didn't convolute that , too much .

Ive heard of hitfilm pro from someone else but havent tried it. My main purpose is to have all of those bells an whistles that come with other programs. I don't need them but my main goal is to just make videos faster.

Another thing, do you guys have any info/video or article can help me to edit faster? Like a tips and tricks kind of thing?

Editing you have to learn.
Depending on your backgrond that learning curve can be very steep or not.
But learning things costs time.
this is the place you can get help so aske your questions if you have some things that you want to learn, f.i.
"I don't need them but my main goal is to just make videos faster."
This is what you asking in one of your last comments and if you mean what is written: you can a video goes faster with the shortcuts Ctrl and drag an event from the last end back to the beginning and see what is happening. But I doubt if that is what you wrote down here.

I really want the plugins that kinda cost some money but I can still work with the things I have now....I'll just work with sony vegas 13 until I have the money to upgrade

Oh I didn't mean how to speed up a video, I just meant how can someone become more efficient or have the ability to make videos at a faster rate. I was seeing if someone had any info or tips that could help me finish videos at a faster rate.

Yes, repetition.
