My gopro 360 max lets me export in 5.6k cineform. However I can not import these files into vegas. Any recommendations?

Yes, install Cineform.

@Musicvid I have the same problem on my computer. GoPro Studio is installed and cineform is available in Vegas as Render option. So from my understanding it must be installed. Vegas gives an Error with file can't be opened. File format unknown or file is damaged. The Vegas Version in my case is 17 build 421

I'm not a 100% sure if the files are undamaged, because if you check the properties in Windows there is no information at all. Right now i can only open the .mov files delivered by the GoPro Max Exporter with VLC Player and DaVinci Resolve. I spent many hours on google to find solutions and decided now to sign up here just to reply to this post if maybe someone has an idea.

I haven't used CF since the gopro studio days, so someone else can advise you on the open source route, which I know several are using.

My last message was to "GoPro Cineform Software Support" , Jake Seagraves to activate Neo 5.62B which you must do before it will work. They will send you 10 six digit groups to activate the software to the computer you are using and no other. That is with Windows 7 64 bit on my computer.

@JJKizak thank you for your response. CAn you tell me where I find the GoPro Cineform Software support? I checked but always ended at github and i can't find any support there that seems to be responsible for that?

@LongIslander

Could you upload some sample footage somewhere that could be downloaded for testing? Thanks.

Try .avi file? Vegas does not have native cineform support, and ancient quicktime for Windows unlikely to support the new file size.

@JJKizak Looks like the Help Centre is shut down.

@Kinvermark Not possible, the GoPro exporter only allowes .mov with cineform. If i manually change the extension later i get the same result.

@Musicvid I read that post before replying to this one. I tried switching on the quicktime support but it didn't change or solve something. Sadly i couldn't find more helpful information in the discussion.

The original file from the GoProMax Camera:

The cineform File converted by the GoProMax Exporter. I cannot open it in Vegas:

Did you ever get this resolved? I have the same problem with GoPro Max Cineform files out of the GoPro PLayer. Premiere takes it but Vegas doesn't and I have tried dozens of things too. Any luck on your end?

Nope I gave up. 😰
