Import video Transparency on Vegas Pro 17 doesn't work with Blender

Nathanael-ALLAL wrote on 11/4/2021, 10:48 AM

Hi

I render video from Blender and i try a lot of different container "quicktime, FFmpeg Video..." and codecs with alpha by example HuffYUV in order to get video with transparency.

So in Vegas Pro it doesn't Work but it good works on another software HitFilm Express.

Could you explain me how to work it ?

Have a nice day.

Kind Regards

@Nathanael-ALLAL I'm not sure that this is your problem, but have you tried changing the media properties alpha channel as described in the help system.

Try a different codec:

Grass valley or cineform support alpha in .avi container. For .mov use prores w alpha if you can stand the huge file sizes.

@Kinvermark I try it but it's doesn't work so blender can't render other codecs webm, DNxHD.
I install Grass Valley but Blender can't communicate with VEGAS PRO.

I am really bored i find this only solution are create sequences pictures on VEGAS PRO.

On VEGAS PRO 19 are udpate this ?

not familiar with blender but maybe the codecs are not set right for the export? i know many dont recommend it but try LAGARITH codec, or try it with ProRes?

This technique should work:

My procedure:

1. Preferences->Deprecated features->Enable Quicktime-Plugin

2. Blender: Enable Transparency

3. Blender: File format: ffmpeg Video, Container: Quicktime, Color RGBA, Video Codec: QT rle/QT Animation

4. Import as videotrack into VP 19, choose composite mode, example:

Perhaps other ways are possible, but I have not tried them.

I9900K, RTX 2080, 32GB RAM, 512Mb M2, 1TB SSD, VEGAS Pro 14-20 (Post), Magix ProX, HitfilmPro
AMD 5900, RTX 3090 TI, 64GB RAM, 1 TB M2 SSD, 4 TB HD, VP 21 Post, VP22
