Imported media to edit, is then appearing with the second or so short of audio to the sampled video track. This is only happening on longer / maximum length imported clips - is there a setting adjustment needed please ?

Imported from SD card in reader, product is movie studio HD platinum if that helps ?
What camera do you use for this recording?
Also, on the different length of video and audio, does the video only showing still of last frame ?

No the video is fine as motion, just that the sound is missing from it for the last second or so.

Hmmm, need a sample test footage to experiment and test on my Vegas Pro 13 / 14 to compare... My other alternative is to try test play the footage from SCS Catalyst Browse. ( http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/catalystbrowse )
If the media plays back successfully without any issue, then convert the media to other format that can be accepted by the VMS.
Import your files using the software that came with the camera, or with SD Explorer in Vegas, not with Windows explorer.
