Is this template correct?

Hi, I have some old videos to edit and render with Vegas. It is only for viewing on my computer.

I am looking for the highest possible quality regardless of the final file size.

Do you think it is correct or should I modify it?

If you're storing them for later editing in Vegas, use Magix Intermediate.

Otherwise, I'm thinking that rendering to MP4 instead of AVI using either Magix AVC or using Happy Otter Scripts' "Render +" (HOS can be found at www.tools4vegas.com, highly recommended) or Voukoder (another great Vegas encoder plugin, both use ffmpeg) to render a X264 MP4 file would work better for you, as many players can play x264, but not many can play it in an AVI wrapper. MP4 is better for compatibility.

That is accomplished by smart rendering your MPEG-2 in Vegas. It will take a little trial and error.

The critical settings that must be matched in Mainconcept are -- dimensions, frame rate, PAR, field order, maximum bitrate, average bitrate. I set minimum bitrate at 2,000,000 for clean shadows and fades.

Set these exactly the same in your custom render properties as your media properties and it will most likely work. There must be no fx on the timeline, And two-pass will not work.

I am looking for the highest quality to see on my computer regardless of the final size. But I am very new to the program and I don't want complications. Doing simple things for you is difficult for me.
If someone is friendly and can give me a screenshot with the perfect template it would be a great help.

That will work. The part that says AMD VCE, you may get higher quality results setting that to Mainconcept.
