OK, I’m fairly adept with DVDA, and can make stylish, reactive menus, but now I want to be able to allow individuals to download an MP4 or other type that would have these clickable-n-play Menu options. What do you guys suggest?
You can create an iso file for your DVDA project and distribute. The recipient can play it, with all the click-n-play controls in VLC Player, which is free. Make sure to check the iso box in file types when installing.
@Musicvid - Oh yes! FLASH! I had excellent that used Flash for making presentations that could be used in Webpages. Maybe that’s a route I should explore? But yes, Flash.
I used to have a Corel/PaintShopPro Product that was something called/like OPUS PRO, and that did MP4 rich content and clickable, almost like PowerPoint on Steriods! And used FLEX Encode ALL the stuff.
I gotta ask, isn’t it about time, in this non-DVD culture we're in, where everything is downloadable that a/any software company hasn’t come up with an alternative to a menu-rich DVDA-like environment?
My Holy Grail, and Grazie-Proof, would be to Author in DVDA and be able to export THAT to an upload-able, menu rich experience for the Viewer?
@walter-i. - Thanks for the support. This HAS to be a MAGIX natural opportunity - has to be. There’s so much pro and homegrown video content needing to have the Style and Funkiness of DVDA formation, that I can’t believe this isn’t already in the traps!
Pro and homegrown stuff: Sports; Tutorials; IdeasCreations; Family Histories; Education ..... massive list...
There are lots of Bluray/DVD players around. I've tried Leawo Bluray Player but its not as good as VLC and it needs Java and cash to get rid of the ads.

Quite agree. Mainly because DVDs and Bluray discs written on a pc optical drive have a short shelf life. There are lots of stories of old unreadable DVDs. Although the VLC option works, the drawback is that the file has to be downloaded instead of being streamed. So, we're stuck with the video type controls of YouTube, which I suppose are OK for short films.
I'm going to look into Drax and MKV files suggested by Musicvid (thanks!).
It's doable with HTML, or iso, but that's not so much the issue. The problem is with people who got a thumb drive of the wedding (generic term, may not refer to a wedding) in the mail but still don't want or know how to operate a computer. They know how to insert a DVD into a DVD slot, and with some fumbling are capable of inserting a flash drive into the USB slot on the TV (most TVs have them nowadays), but after that it's all a bit confusing.

Exactly that also applies to some of my (older) "customers". I recently explained to a friend of mine how to record from his smart TV (the former video recorder function). I noticed that the hard drive that he bought 7 years ago with the TV had been running unused for those 7 years and had only consumed electricity ........ People are often overwhelmed with the many features that new devices bring with them. Apparently they would be better served with single devices that have only limited functions. (like in the good old days)
