MP4 Rendering Problem

Hello,

I enjoy using Vegas Pro 15, but I have a problem that I would like to see if there is a solution to. I make videos for flight simulator developers to show off their product. They request it in MP4 format and WMV. I render out the WMV, check it, and it looks just like the preview in Vegas. However, when I then render the video out in MP4, and then look at the render, the video has more contrast as well as a lot more glow/brightness. Is there anyway to fix this, I can provide simple clips in both WMV and MP4, same video FX added to it to show what I mean if needed.

Thanks

Please read Nick's sticky **IMPORTANT!** - INFORMATION REQUIRED TO HELP YOU. Especially the B - ESSENTIAL INFORMATION section and what your codec your using and settings and/or the rendered file's MediaInfo. 'MP4' is too generalized for a useful response.

Yes that information is required for support.

However, the difference between the two suggests a simple fix.

WMV is an RGB codec, so Vegas' RGB output is the correct input to the encoder.

MP4 spec is YUV. To use this colorspace, add a Computer RGB->Studio RGB Levels filter at the end of the output chain. The preview will look grayer, yet both renders will look the same in a player.

Thanks for this! This seems like it would fix it. However, I seem to not be able to figure out how to do that. Would you be able to elaborate a little more on how to add/get to the setting to change this? Thanks in advanced!

Hello... I am currently using VP-13 and 14 andI have started having issues with both versions rendering my projects. Nothing has changed in the process and settings previously used for rendering are the same as before... but projects do not render out to an mp4. It goes through the rendering process but when it completes, does not have the mp4 in the download folder... Any suggestions? and this happens about 20-25% of the time now.
