No audio after rendering

Nothing wrong with the audio stream. I think it's another application hijacking your audio driver, maybe something you recently installed? Microsoft Mapper is notorious for this. Try choosing Direct Surround or ASIO audio driver in Preferences.

I've tried using Direct Surround as well as Windows Classic and neither have worked, though I don't see an ASIO option when choosing.

Ive done a clean install of windows 10, only installing programs that I absolutely needed to do my work and still had the issue. What you're saying makes sense, I just don't know what it could be, if that is the issue

Try the ASIO-4-ALL device driver. It works for most folks who have trouble with Classic Wave and Sound Mapper.

Do you by any chance have Sound Forge Audio Studio 14 or 15 installed? The 'low latency' driver installed with AS has been known to cause system wide noise and other abnormalities. This is specific to AS though and does not exist in Sound Forge Pro or other apps.

I do not have Sound Forge installed, no. However I'll try installing ASIO and trying it out to see if my results get any better. It's been rough re-rendering videos and just hoping they have audio lol

The first render I tried using ASIO had no audio at all, just like the other failed renders. All I did was run through the installer and made sure to tell vegas to use it under preferences >> Audio Devices. Is there a step that I missed maybe?

I'm also getting this little Notification whenever I click on Vegas:

Direct Surround Sound Mapper is your onboard ASIO driver.

Okay, using Direct Sound Mapper after installing ASIO seems to be working, I haven't had any issues with audio yet today. However, now when I'm using Direct Sound Mapper, it seems that my scrubbing is much slower, averaging about 1-2 FPS and the target is 29.97. Any idea why this may be? If I switch back to Microsoft Sound Mapper the FPS issue goes away, so I've just been remembering to switch back to Direct before rendering, but this is a mildly annoying work around.

Just for clarity, I'm scrubbing using this:
