No Mp4 Video file found after rendering?

Valentino47 wrote on 12/6/2016, 11:34 AM

Good day to you guys,

I have been having some issues lately with rendering my files. Often times, after rendering is complete, I can only find (file name).mp4.tmp, and not an actual mp4 file. Nothing is wrong with my rendering settings, as I only use my favorited custom settings. Any idea what the problem might be? Thank you!

If you rename the .mp4.tmp to just .mp4, is it what you are looking for? Vegas is likely rendering to that temp file, and then renames it when it is finished. You could be having a Windows permissions issue.

Can you post a screen grab of the "render-as" dialog box?

Sounds like something is causing the encoding stop early.

Clean thedust bunnies from your CPU and GPU fans, and try again. This isn't frivolous advice.

Does renaming .mp4.tmp to .mp4 'solving' the issue? Does the file playable in all media players and is it suitable for upload?

There are plenty of things to try in this post (and the other troubleshooting post it links to): https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-stop-vegas-pro-hanging-during-rendering--104786/

Renaming the file (removing .tmp) worked. Thank you very much!
